Storm Safety Checklist

  • If you’ve been ordered to evacuate, do so immediately

  • If evacuating shut off water, gas, and electrical services before leaving

  • Make way to the safe spot you identified when you created your Family Emergency Plan

  • Listen to your local alerting systems or NOAA weather radio for emergency information and instructions

  • Do not attempt to walk, swim, or drive through flood waters. Find alternate routes or seek higher ground

  • Stay away from downed power lines or electrical wires
